In 1984, the Korea Music Foundation (President Kyunghee Kim) was chartered in the state of New York as a non-profit organization. Since its inception, KMF has presented numerous solo, orchestra, and chamber ensemble debut concerts in New York such as at Zankel Hall and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, and Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. KMF has presented artists in concert including David Kim, Alissa Park, HaeSun Paik, Daejin Kim, Hera Hyesang Park, Sungwon Yang, and Minsoo Sohn. KMF also inaugurated a chamber music series at the Korean Cultural Service New York and presented over one hundred musicians. KMF has been working with Korea Mecenat Association, a distinguished group of Korean companies such as Byucksan Engineering, Amore Pacific Foundation, Noroo Holdings, Poongsan Group, Dongsung Chemical, CJ Cultural Foundation, and DX Change, with the aim to elevate the prominence of K-Classical on a global stage by showcasing exceptional Korean performers in American classical venues.
