Biography: Ms. Kim, a graduate of the Seoul Art and Music High School and Seoul National University, also earned a master’s degree from The Juilliard School. She has performed with numerous opera companies including Pittsburgh, Opera Carolina, Opera Columbus, Baltimore, Virginia, Lake George, San Jose, Nikikai National Opera in Japan and the Korean National, Opera, New Seoul and Opera Korea. Sujung Kim’s many roles include Juliet (Romeo and Juliet), Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare), Violetta (La Traviata), Mimi (La Boheme), Micaela (Carmen), Gilda (Rigoletto), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Nanetta (Falstaff) and Lucia (Lucia di Lammermor), among others. Along with regular solo recitals, Ms. Kim’s concert repertoire includes Handel’s Messiah, Mahler Symphonies, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Verdi and Brahms Requiems and Beethoven’s 9th, among others, with the Yale Symphony, KBS Orchestra, MBC Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic, Korean Symphony, Daejeon Philharmonic, Ulsan Philharmonic, Euro-Asian Symphony, to name a few. She is the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, including the Pavarotti and Puccini Foundation Competitions and the Metropolitan Opera International Competition which launched her career in the United States. Sujung Kim’s recordings include Handel’s Giulio Cesare on the Koch International label. Ms. Kim is represented by Pinnacle Arts Management and is currently a full professor at Anyang University.
