Artists: Byungwoo Kim, baritone; Hyunjee Kim, soprano; Israel Gursky, piano

Biography: Korean baritone, Byungwoo Kim recently returned from the Intermezzo Opera where he performed Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro. Last year, Mu. Kim participated in Tanglewood Music Center where he performed the role of Cat in Renard (by Stravinsky)that was broadcast live nation-wide on WQXR. Operatic performances to his credit also include Germont in La Traviata. Count in Le Nozze di Figaro, Harlekin in Aridne auf Naxos. Figaro in Le Barbiere di Siviglia and Marcello in La Boheme. Mr. Kim is also a very sensitive and accomplished lieder singer. Oratorio performances to his credit include soloist appearances in Messiah by Handel. Creation by Haydn and Elijah by Mendelssohn. He is a winner of numerous awards including the Mario Lanza Competition, Sullivan Foundation, finalist in the Metropolitan National Councel Eastern Region, Michael Sisca Opera Award from the Mannes College of Music and a Merit Scholarship from the Manhattan School of Music. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from Kei Myung University in his home town Daegu, Korea, a master degree from The Manhattan School of Music and Professional Study degree from the Mannes College of Music and now he is pursuing a DMA at the University of Hartford. He has studied with Theodor Uppman. Ruth Falcon and Mitchelle Piper.
