Biography: First-Prize winner of the Philadelphia Orchestra Young Artists Competition and third-prize winner of Concours International d’ Execution Musicale in Geneva, flutist Hyeri Yoon’s extensive solo concert engagement have taken her all over the world. Some of world’s most prestigious venues such as concert with Jean-Pierre Rampal and Julius Baker at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center Weil Hall in New York, Philadelphia Academy Hall, Philharmonic Hall in St.Petersburg, Shanghai Grand Theater, Seoul Arts Center, have presented her as soloists with Philadelphia Orchestra, St.Petersburg Orchestra, Swiss Romande Orchestra, Winterthur Orchestra, NHK Symphony Orchestra, KBS Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Opera Orchestra,the New World Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfonica de Tenerife. Ms. Yoon has performed as a chamber musician at the Seoul Spring Festival, the Festival of Spoletto in Italy, Mt.Fuji International Chamber Music Festival, Festival de Parc de Sceaux in France, Radio France Jeunes Interpretes Concert series in Salle Gaveau, Festival de Primavera de Tenerife in Spain. She is currently the member of Kumho Chamber Music Society and the Korea Aulos Woodwind Quintet. The recipient of numerous awards, Hyeri Yoon was laureate at the Olga Koussevitzky, the New York Flute Club Competition. Ms.Yoon holds Bachelor of Music degree from The Curtis Institute of Music where she studied with Juilus Baker and Jaffrey Khaner and a Master’s degree from Basel Musik Akademie under Peter-Lukas Graf. She completed Professional Studies at the Manhattan School of Music with Jeanne Baxtresser and the Conservatoire Nationale Superieur de Paris with Alain Marion. Ms.Yoon has been principal flute of the Orquesta Sinfonica de Tenerife in Spain and the New World Symphony in Miami. Ms.Yoon been invited as a juror on international competition such as the 7th Kobe International Flute Competition in Japan and 4th Aurele Nicolet Flute Competition in China in 2014. Ms.Yoon has released her solo CD “Elegia” and “Poulenc” with Kumho Chamber Music Society. Since 2007, she is the founder member of the Prefailles Music Festival and Academy in France. Since 2005, Ms.Yoon is professor of the Seoul National University in Korea.
